I am particularly interested in ‘location’; the processes of change engendered on the landscape, and the objects in it. These frequently inform a starting point of reference in my work and have been explored through a variety of materials such as acrylic paint, wood, metal, concrete and plastic both in terms of their existence in the environment and for their materiality.
My inspiration comes from walking, listening and collecting in these locations. ‘Collecting’ can involve taking pictures or recording sounds and video, as well as found objects and this allows time for a period of reflection following visits to a site.
My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them; to discover beauty in unusual places and to think about nature and human impact on the world.
